• Custom Domains Added FAQ for custom domains: We don´t allow full sites as custom domains, which means www or a url like http://example.com are not valid as custom domain

BUG FIXES

• API Fixed an API issue that occurs when NULL values exist in return array: The PHP XML-RPC client does not allow NULL values. Our API does, as with this release, not return NULL values anymore.
• listZones Fixed beginning 0 value & removed array wrapper for listZones functions: listZones function returns zones now in a proper array
• Cache Inspector Fixed Cache Inspector validation error: A input validation error was fixed.

In this launch, our development team fixed a bug with VOD password changes that occurred with our first generation media servers. They have also worked on, and rolled out a new beta feature available to a few select Enterprise CDN clients only, that gives them access to an Asset Manager for their Push Zones. If after the beta testing clears QA, this feature will be rolled out to all Push Zones in a future release.

On the horizon, we expect to have our Asia PoP integrated into all of our systems, as well as the introduction of Full Zones. More information about these new features will come.

• ASSET MANAGER Fixed an issue where files in VOD FTP folders, which had non UTF-8 characters, disabled the asset manager resulting in a grey background hang.

• POPULAR FILES REPORTING Addressed an issue with the popular file reporting purge button, which when previously clicked did not carry out the action. This is now working as intended.

• FULL ZONE This new product, currently in beta, will allow dynamic content caching. Contact sales@netdna.com for details.

• NETWORK STATUS Our solution to proactive monitoring and increasing transparency. The feature provides detailed live reporting of Edge clusters and API.

IMPROVEMENTS

• GOOGLE ANALYTICS has been optimized with the control panel by using faster code, reducing any drag that might have been felt in the past.

BUG FIXES

• VOD ZONE an error that occurred when creating a VOD zone with a custom domain on the Create Zone Form was fixed.

• Push / Pull Zones will no longer show the Shared SSL Domain in the Custom Domains Settings.

• Push / Pull Zones for overall security, will no longer allow full sites (www.domain.com domain.com) to be added as Custom Domains. If needed, please contact support for a custom solution. We're here to help!

• Pull Zones will accurately reflect features allowed by the platform they proxy. If it's possible, it will do it!

BUG FIXES:

• Fixed an issue with Cache Inspector showing as correct when file did not exist on origin

• Reporting by Zone: We have added the ability to view reports on a per zone basis. Hopefully this will provide you with more insight about your site's usage and needs.

• Popular Files Reports: We have re-enabled the popular file reporting so that you can get a better picture of what is being requested on your site.

• Added TEMP URLs to VOD Zones: VOD zones will now be referenced using TEMP URLs similar to pull and push zone URLs in order to provide more transparency.

• HTTP 1.1 Compliant on the origin/backend -uses keep-alive and honors Gzip headers. (We've always been HTTP 1.1 compliant to the browser)
• Honoring DNS lookups for origins - we use a super fast DNS resolver every 5 minutes to make switching your origin host pain free (no more perminant IP caching).  It also works great with Amazon S3's DNS redundancy.
• New Caching Algorithm - Not all content is equal - so we now use a caching algorithm that's based on "hot" content rather than just space.  It's more efficient in achieving high cache hit percentages and keeping the hottest content in all the right places.
• Bigger SSD arrays- Pull zones are already 100% SSD based.  We've recently tweaked a high performance, low power super cluster which allows us to be ridiculously efficient on bandwidth per server and bandwidth per watt of datacenter power.  We have an even more high I/O iteration of the server platform going into production in January.  What does this mean for you?  We're efficient and can provide value and speed for you.
• New Acceleration Stack - we're going to be making a public announcement of a partnership in the coming weeks, and it gives us access to a great stack for accelerating TCP Slowstart and TCP Congestion.  What this does is extend the reach and effectiveness of our PoPs.  Anything over 10ms in latency will see ~20% improvement and the larger the latency and the bigger the file, the more improvement (upto ~200%).   The new stack also provides very fast and consistent delivery to highly latent environments like mobile devices, WiFi and even airplanes wireless.

• Faster Replication - We've come up with faster replication techniques so you don't have to wait.
• New Acceleration Stack - (See the above description from Pull Zones)
• Dedicated Storage - we were previously using NFS with attached storage and have itterated on a new direct-in-server storage that's fast and efficient (and good on datacenter power!)
