New API IP Whitelist – Brings Enhanced Security

We have exciting news I wanted to inform you about.  As part of our commitment to feature releases and improved security we are adding IP filtering to our API.
So in order for you to be able to continue to make calls to our API, the IP of the server making the calls must be whitelisted in our system.  We will be blocking all IP’s that have not been whitelisted, on April 25, 2012.

If you need your IP whitelisted, it can be done in two clicks; we have instructions below:

First go to Manage Account and click the API Link:

Then after you click the Whitelist IPs button:

You can also email or chat with support directly to assist you with this.

SSL Acceleration – As easy as it gets!

SSL has always been a daunting task to implement for both system administrators and their providers. Typically, when users request SSL certificates, the outcome was difficult to both manage and enable. With our EasySSL set up, all system administrators will be happy and your users will have the sense of security.

New Features

We are very excited to have you use our new custom SSL. Here are some of the many advantages of our new custom SSL:

Instant Setup

We instantly and transparently order a new certificate for you, so you don’t have to worry about certificate management and implementation.

Fast Load Time

Having more efficiently programmed SSL Cipher allows for fast and secure transfer of data.

Reduce Costs

Eliminates the need to buy and install SSL-capable server software on every server within the network.

More Power

EasySSL Acceleration offloads the SSL processing to NetDNA’s infrastructure, allowing the origin servers’ CPU computational load to be reduced by 70%.

Custom vs Shared SSL

Choose a solution best suited to your needs as we offer two kinds of SSL certificates: one that is hosted on our domain (shared SSL), and the other on your selected CNAME (custom SSL). It can be a bit confusing to compare the benefits of the two. Here is a list of the main differences:

Easy SSL – $24.95 per month

  • Google will rank your site higher as images point to your domain
  • Very easy to deploy as HTTP and HTTPS are on one domain
  • No need to worry about managing your certificates

    Shared SSL – FREE

  • HTTP and HTTPS on two domains – a bit harder to maintain and rewrite
  • No SEO benefits as images are not on your domain
  • Easy to enable in control panel
  • Completely free

Not only do we have new additions to our EasySSL, we have all kinds of other enhancements as well!

  • Our new Custom EasySSL has 1/2 the load time due to a more efficiently programmed SSL Cipher.
  • As we offload the intensive task of SSL, this allows your origin servers to scale easier and use less resources.
  • We have a completely worry-free setup; we do all the work to get you up and running ASAP!

SSL at a Great Price

Not only do we give you all of these features and more, we will give you all of these for only $24.95/month! If you want to try out our new custom SSL feature, just log into your control panel and purchase a custom SSL certificate by going to the SSL tab.

We hope you enjoy this new feature as SSL has never been as easy to implement; hope you find our custom SSL much easier to use, deploy and manage.

NetDNA Slashes Prices!

LOS ANGELES, Oct 31, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — NetDNA today announced online customer service features and new pricing for its content delivery services to make them easier to use, more transparent and the low-price alternative to comparable solutions such as Amazon CloudFront.

The growing importance of web performance optimization — which impacts everything from search engine rankings to online sales — has opened the content delivery network (CDN) market to customers who are turned off by the negotiated pricing schemes, service implementation delays and extra customer service charges that are pervasive in the industry.

One example is BuySellAds.com, an online ad buying and selling service that switched from Amazon CloudFront to NetDNA because its superior services enabled more complete file control. Complete caching control over files is critical to BuySellAds.com’s business in order to deliver fast service to its customers.

The changes impact NetDNA’s pay-as-you-go MaxCDN(TM) service for small and medium businesses customers and it’s enterprise-class NetDNA(TM) service.

NetDNA services for U.S. and European distribution are priced at six cents per gigabyte for the first 10 terabytes to as low as one cent per gigabyte for users who exceed 5 petabytes. For Asian distribution the price range is ten cents per gigabyte ranging to 3.2 cents per gigabyte for the same traffic volumes. Included in that pricing is custom secure sockets layer (SSL), 24/7 support via phone, email or chat, no overage penalties, service level agreements and customized service development via an XML application-programming interface (API) or through the NetDNA service team.

MaxCDN pricing includes an introductory price of $39.95 for the first terabyte of service. After that, prices range from seven cents per gigabyte for the first 10 terabytes all the way to two cents per gigabyte for services more than five petabytes. All of these services are global and feature unlimited zones and shared SSL.

The company has enhanced its online control panel for both services to provide access to real-time provision services and to cache purge capabilities. With this tool, customers can implement new zones or provision new accounts in real time. The tool also provides real time reporting and analytics on data transfers.

Additionally, the company is providing plug ins for instant integration with leading content management and blogging systems including Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, SocialEngine, X-Cart and others. Also, Amazon EC2 and S3 services integrate well with NetDNA.

“The need for CDN services is critical to every website owner who needs to improve user experience, monetize their website or boost SEO,” said David Henzel, vice president of marketing at NetDNA. “We’ve seen this shift happen before in the web hosting market, and with our enhanced services NetDNA is leading the way for this shift to happen within the CDN market.”

“While initially our decision to switch from Amazon CloudFront to NetDNA was because NetDNA offered better and fairer pricing and more control over our files, over time we have discovered that working with NetDNA means much more than simply cost and control,” said Todd Garland, founder of BuySellAds. “A relationship with NetDNA is about having a true partner who is responsive and able to support our changing needs as our business grows and develops.”

SocialEngine has been out there for quite some time now, and since its initial release in 2007, it has now emerged into a powerful social networking service with tons of features. And now, in SocialEngine’s latest release that they deemed 4.1.8, the developers over at Webligo added six new and brilliant features! • Google Analytics ID Integration - Track your traffic. Easily integrate Google Analytics tracking code by just inputing your ID.
  • Affiliate branding option - Earn back your SocialEngine product fees and more! Join our SocialEngine affiliate program and input your affiliate ID into a field.
  • MaxCDN pull or rsync-based implementation of a custom CDN - Speed up your site! We’ve added StaticBaseUrl configuration parameters to allow static resources to be served and hosted by MaxCDN’s pull zone or other CDN/file-hosting services. Read More…

  • Minor performance improvements (more to come!)

The one feature we are very excited about is of course the MaxCDN pull zone support! We worked directly with their team to make sure MaxCDN’s pull zone will work with ease. With full CDN integration with both MaxCDN and all rsync-based CDNs, the SocialEngine script will now be able to perform much faster offloading its content off to a CDN.

We can’t wait to hear on how fast these SocialEngine sites will be able to run with CDN support. If you use SocialEngine, we would love to hear if you plan on integrating your social website with a CDN.

NetDNA Selects FastSoft to Speed CDN Services

PASADENA, CA – August 8, 2011 – FastSoft, Inc. today announced that NetDNA, a leading Los Angeles-based content delivery network (CDN) and web advertising delivery provider, has selected the company’s E-Series origin content acceleration (OCA) appliance to improve content delivery speed across its entire product line.

NetDNA delivers affordable CDN solutions such as small file acceleration, advertising delivery and full high-definition media streaming to thousands of customers worldwide.

The company installed the FastSoft E-Series appliance to increase the reach of its edge locations in order to maximize its performance through an efficient infrastructure footprint. Through this integration, NetDNA is able to accelerate content delivery between its datacenters and between its datacenters and end-users.

“NetDNA is in the speed business and after installing the E-Series, we saw a noticeable and measurable improvement in the speed of file delivery,” said Chris Ueland, President and CTO of NetDNA. “This has resulted in substantial performance improvements for our customers and FastSoft is now a core building block of our network.”

FastSoft’s E-Series is based on the company’s origin content acceleration (OCA) technology, which accelerates the delivery of dynamic and non-cacheable data that is delivered from origin servers. When these servers are located far from the end user, a significant transport latency delay can often greatly slow content download speed. OCA augments CDNs and front-end optimization (FEO) technology to provide complete web performance optimization.

“CDNs are facing a need to evolve with a market that is becoming increasingly personalized with more and more content being dynamically generated,” said Ed Snyder, FastSoft CEO. “The addition of the E-Series to the NetDNA network allows the company to accelerate end-to-end content delivery for a satisfying end-user experience, regardless of whether it’s a popular or longtail video, or a static or dynamic file.”

About FastSoft

FastSoft spun out of the California Institute of Technology to supercharge the Internet for business. FastSoft’s Origin Content Acceleration (OCA) software speeds content delivery by up to 150%. FastSoft’s unique server-side solutions improve a user’s content access experience without the need for software or modifications on the receiving end. FastSoft’s web acceleration solutions are used by some of the largest companies on the Web.

The company is privately held and is located in Pasadena, CA. More information is at www.fastsoft.com.
